Archived: Sauk River Drowning Victim Identified

The Stearns County Sheriff’s Office has released the name of the man who had drowned in the Sauk River on Sunday.

Stearns County Sheriff John Sanner says 55-year-old Daniel LeRoy Snively was pulled from the river around 12:45 p.m. Sunday afternoon. Rescue crews had attempted to revive Snively but were unsuccessful.

The Stearns County Sheriff’s Office is waiting for the final autopsy results from the Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office to officially determine the exact cause of death.

Deputies do not believe any foul play is suspected in Snively’s death. However, they do think alcohol may have been a contributing factor in the drowning.
