St. Cloud State University’s Speech and Debate team traveled to Brookings, South Dakota for a tournament and came back with some hardware. SCSU was awarded the Widvey Team Quality Award for their performance at the Jackrabbit Jousts Speech and Debate Invitational on October 9th and 10th. This award is determined by dividing sweeps points by the total entries for comprehensive programs. St. Cloud beat 11 schools from 5 different states for this award.

Also gaining honors for St. Cloud State was sophomore Ben Kauffman, who took first in both Prose and Dramatic Interpretation, as well as third in Program of Oral Interpretation.
