Archived: SCSU Will Host Their 8th Annual Science Rocks! Event Wednesday

More than 700 fifth and sixth grade students from area schools will participate in an event designed to give kids a college experience and hands on learning in science.

The SCSU’s 2014 Science Rocks! event will take place Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at St. Cloud State’s Wick Science Building, Brown Hall and the newly built ISELF building.

The 2014 Science Rocks! event allows students to choose from over 30 different sessions covering a wide array of science topics.

Sessions include subjects on how the DNR manages fish populations in the state, a physics session with imploding 55-gallon barrels and a session on human anatomy showing children how complex body parts like their knees move.

All the science sessions are conducted by professional engineers, naturalists, nurses and veterinarians.

The 8th annual Science Rocks! event is co-sponsored by St. Cloud State University and Resource Training and Solutions.
