Sartell School Service Employees Voted To Authorize Strike
12/11/2017 - 10:45 AM
Sartell school workers are organizing and ready for a strike.
Spokesman Josh Keller says that Service Employees International Union 284 voted overwhelmingly in favor on Saturday, December 9 to authorize a strike if working conditions in Sartell schools don’t change. Workers within the union include cooks, bus drivers and custodians. Eighty-three workers are in the union and are working under an expired contract since July 1, 2016.
The union says these employees are challenged with proposals that would undercut their jobs; no formal strike has been set.
