Semi Truck Driver Dies After Driving Off The Road

A 68-year-old semi-truck driver died at the St. Cloud Hospital after driving his semi into a plowed field Wednesday morning.
The Stearns County Sheriff’s office received a phone call from a witness around 7 a.m. The witness reported following the semi on County Road 2 in St. Joseph Township when it veered off the west side of the road. The semi driver went off the road just before 260th Street.
The witness and a Cold Spring police officer helped the semi driver out of the truck. He was taken to the St. Cloud Hospital by Gold Cross Ambulance.
The cause of the accident has not been reported at this time.The semi driver is from Gonvick; a town northwest of Bemidji.
Minnesota State Troopers and the St. Joseph Rescue Squad helped in the incident.
