Suspect Breaks Into Bremer Bank Drive Through Window, Attempts Other Burglaries
09/05/2017 - 10:15 AM
A string of vandalism in St. Cloud is believed to be caused by the same person.
St. Cloud Police Sergeant Jason Burke says last Thursday night police arrived to a vandalism call on the 1900 block of Quarry Road. The suspect had unsuccessfully used a torch to try and melt the change box on a vending machine.
Officers then responded to another property damage complaint at Bremer Bank early Friday morning at 3:09 a.m. The suspect had broken a window, entered the bank, and used the torch to melt the teller drawers to leave with an unknown amount of money.
Burke says later a witness noticed a broken window at Wells Fargo and called the police. Police found that a suspect used a rock to attempt to break a window but was unsuccessful and then tried to melt the glass but wasn’t able to get in.
Police believe these three incidents are all connected and done by the same person. Anyone with more information about the crimes is urged to call St. Cloud Police at 320-251-1200.
