Williams is being held for court in the Stearns County Jail
A St. Cloud man was arrested just after midnight Saturday after reportedly firing multiple gunshots at a person after an argument in downtown St. Cloud. Officers say that 25-year-old Cleophas Williams Jr. fired four shots at the victim before fleeing into the Center Square parking ramp and onto 6th Avenue south. Officers were able to catch up to Williams after he was struck by a vehicle on 6th Avenue South.
Williams was arrested and taken to St. Cloud Hospital for non-life threatening injuries and then to the Stearns County Jail. He is being held for court on charges of being a felon in possession of a handgun, fleeing police on foot, reckless discharge of a firearm and for an active misdemeanor warrant from Benton County.
No one was injured by the gunshots. St. Cloud Police were assisted by the Central Minnesota Violent Offenders Task Force and the Avon police department.
