Archived: St. Cloud Man Arrested On Charges Of Terroristic Threats And 2nd Degree Assault

A man is facing charges of terroristic threats and 2nd degree assault on allegations of physically attacking and threatening to kill a 38-year-old woman.

St. Cloud Police Lieutenant Jeff Oxton says officers responded to a report on the 1100 Block of 7th Street Southeast Sunday.

When officers arrived at the scene they found that the suspect, 32-year-old Orlando Maurice Johnson of St. Cloud, had already left the residence. However, the woman had only suffered minor injuries and did not need medical attention.

On Monday a search warrant was executed at 2:34 p.m. on the 2100 Block of Cooper Avenue North. Officers found Johnson in the house and ordered him to exit. Fifteen minutes later he was arrested and taken to the Sherburne County Jail where he is being held for court.

Oxton adds that officers discovered Johnson is a convicted felon with past arrests on his criminal history for assault with a knife and felony level narcotics.

Anyone with additional information is urged to call the St. Cloud Police Department at 320-251-1200 or the Tri County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-255-1301.
