St. Cloud Police Accepting Reserve Applicants

The St. Cloud Police Department is accepting applications for its volunteer Reserve Unit. The 25 member reserve unit assists regular police officers in daily patrol and situations.
Reserve applicants must submit a physical exam with their application.
Accepted members will go through training to prepare them for work with police officers. They will be trained in the areas of crowd control, self-defense, and traffic direction among others. According to the police department, reserve officers do not carry a weapon but they’ll be trained to use to firearms.
Reserve members also are required to attend regular meetings. The application can be found online.
