21-year-old Daniel Stanger
Police say two vehicles, including a squad car, were significantly damaged after a St. Cloud man tried to flee police.
St. Cloud Police tried to pull over a vehicle driven by 21-year-old Daniel Thomas Stanger of St. Cloud on Wednesday around 4:30 p.m. The stop was in connection with an undercover narcotics purchase conducted by the Central Minnesota Violent Offenders Task Force.
According to the police report, Stanger refused to pull over and used several evasive moves to flee officers. After a few blocks, Stanger allegedly crashed into the front and side of a squad car that he was driving alongside of and spun around. The officer driving the squad car used it to push Stanger’s vehicle into a convenience store driveway at 33rd Avenue North and 7th Street ending the pursuit.
Stanger was arrested without incident and is being held the Stearns County Jail on charges of fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle.
