St. Cloud Police have arrested a man in connection to an attack against a woman earlier this week.

St. Cloud police Sergeant Jason Burke says officers arrested 48-year-old Reginald Christopher Smith on charges of 2nd degree assault, 5th degree assault, terroristic threats and criminal damage to property.

Smith is believed to be responsible for an assault against a 37-year-old woman Sunday. Burke says officers were called to the 700 block of St. Germain Street East around 7:30 p.m. late Sunday evening after a female caller said she was thrown around and a man had threatened to kill her with a hammer.

Smith came into the police station Tuesday to turn himself in.
