Archived: St. Cloud Police Believe Missing Student Jesse Dady May Have Fallen Off Railroad Bridge

New information has been released by the St. Cloud Police Department in the case of missing St. Cloud State University student Jesse Dady.

In an update just before 2 p.m. today, Assistant Police Chief Jeff Oxton says they received new video footage that shows Dady walking east onto the railroad bridge which spans the Mississippi River. Due to distance and darkness, the video quality is poor, but at about one third of the way across the bridge, Dady can no longer be seen. Police say that Dady may have fallen.

Police say he was alone on the bridge, which is difficult and dangerous to walk on, and that the bridge is not intended for pedestrian use.

Water search efforts had to be cancelled on Monday night because of darkness. On Tuesday, the water search began again and crews from Stearns County and Hennepin County Sheriff’s Departments focused on the area underneath the bridge, but the results were inconclusive. Water searching operations will potentially resume Thursday.

Oxton reaffirmed it is important to note that all of the surveillance video and all other information in this investigation supports the fact that no foul play is suspected.

Twenty-one-year-old Dady went missing on Saturday, March 26. St. Cloud State University officials have been meeting with Dady’s family, roommates and friends to offer any support that is needed.
