St. Cloud police responding to a welfare check discovered a person had died.

St. Cloud Police Sergeant Jason Burke says officers were called to the 10 block of 8th Street South in St. Cloud just before 1 p.m. Friday afternoon.

Police say the person is not a staff member or student of St. Cloud State University. They are, however, withholding the identification until next of kin has been notified.

The victim’s body was taken to the Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office where an autopsy is scheduled to be performed.

Sergeant Burke says there is no danger to the public and they are not actively looking for anyone in connection with this incident.
