St. Cloud Respond To Hit And Run

On Saturday night St. Cloud Police were called to a hit and run near Highway 15 and 8th Street North. After a traffic stop, officers found the suspect vehicle near Highway 23 and 29th Avenue.
A police investigation found that the hit and run vehicle was driven by 31-year-old Richard Emmit Jones from Wilmar who was intoxicated. Jones had a 7-year-old passenger was not injured in the crash. Jones has three previous convictions for DWI related offenses which enhanced this violation to a felony.
The vehicle that Jones hit was driven by 45-year-old Theresa Ann Solarz from St. Cloud who was treated for her injuries at the St. Cloud Hospital.
Jones is being held at the Stearns County Jail for 1st degree DWI, criminal vehicular operation, driving after cancellation, leaving the scene of an accident, ignition interlock violation and a child seat violation.
