A St. Cloud woman has been cited with careless driving after her car struck a tree Tuesday just before 1:00 p.m.

Sergeant Jason Burke says 37-year-old Jodi Egbers was driving on 9^th Avenue North when her car suddenly left the roadway and struck a tree, causing severe damage to her vehicle. Egbers told officers that she believes she fell asleep prior to the accident.

Egbers was taken to the St. Cloud Hospital by ambulance for treatment of non-threatening injuries. There was no evidence that Egbers was impaired at the time of the accident.
