Archived: Stearns County Museum Recognizes Farms Older Than 150 Years

Family farmers who value Stearns County’s strong agricultural tradition have new opportunities to join the Stearns History Museum’s Century Farm program.

History Museum Archivist Andrew Penick says agriculture has been one of the economic cornerstones in the county for a very long time and the museum has recognized family farms that have been in the community for a century. Now the museum’s Century Farm program will recognize farms that have been in a family for 150 years.

Nearly 500 farms are already in the century program and farms formed before 1868 can qualify for the program.

For more information you can visit the Stearns Museum at 235 South 33rd Avenue, St. Cloud.
