Stearns County Recieves Federal Energy Grant
09/28/2009 - 10:00 AM
Stearns County is receiving nearly $400,000 in federal money to cover the costs for new air conditioning in the county Law Enforcement Center, Courthouse and Courts Facility building. The county’s current air conditioning system is 25 years old, still runs on Freon and is bad for the ozone. The project will ultimately cost $600,000. The county says it will need to get some additional funding from the County’s CIP fund. Work to replace the system will begin this winter so the new system can be up and running by next summer.
