Stearns County Service Center To Open

The "Open to Serve You" sign will be hanging soon at Stearns County's new Service Center, but first the employees are helping make the final move to the new location. This weekend the move will be underway to the new 45,000 square foot  Waite Park location on County Road 138, which is about one block west of Mills Fleet Farm.

The License Center West, Human Services Public Health Division and most of the Human Services Community Corrections Division will be housed in the new Service Center.  This means the current License Center West on West St. Germain Street near Walmart will close Friday. It will re-open Tuesday at the new location.

The county is proud of the new drive through service for the License Center, it will be open until 5:30p.m. weekdays, a half-hour longer for renewals only during the extended time.  The downtown Public Health office will move on Monday, September 28th to the new location. After this date, all services including WIC clinics, paternity testing, immunization clinics and medication office visits will no longer be available downtown.

More than 90 employees will staff the new facilities.
