Stearns County Website Honored
08/13/2009 - 9:55 AM
If you’ve ever browsed the Stearns County website and been impressed with its usability and informative nature, you’re not the only one. The county’s website just received a prestigious award. In the 2009 Center for Digital Government Survey, Stearns County’s website ranked sixth in the nation. Ten winners are chosen in four population categories. Stearns ranks in the “less than 150,000 people” category.
The annual award recognizes best practices in county government websites and counties that utilize technology in inventive ways to improve online service to their citizens.
Stearns County officials say as the county faces tight budgets, it’s more important than ever to utilize online technology to deliver information to citizens. The county is launching a brand new website this fall with even more services.
