Archived: Stearns History Museum Art Exhibit To Close, Reception Held Saturday

The “Blood Run Artworks of the Big Sioux” art exhibit at the Stearns History Museum is closing after being on display since June.

The exhibit consists of collaborative work from five South Dakota artists, each of whom displayed original works too.

Stearns History Museum adds that the use of the name “Blood Run” is a reference of honor and respect to an 8,500 year old Paleo-Indian site which is located on the borders of Iowa and South Dakota, straddling the Big Sioux River.

The photos shown are part of the exhibit courtesy of Stearns History Museum.

A closing reception will be held at the museum Saturday from 2 to 5 p.m. At 4 p.m. there will be a gallery talk featuring the artists.

The event is free to the public, and all the art on display will be for sale.
