Family Safe After SUV Goes Through Ice on Lake in Paynesville

A family escaped without injuries after their SUV fell through the ice in Paynesville. According to the Stearns County Sheriff’s office, the SUV went through the ice around 5:30 a.m. Tuesday morning on northeast side of Lake Koronis.
The SUV fell through in a spot where the water was three to four feet deep. 27-year-old Wong Thao from St. Paul was the driver of the vehicle. He had two passengers that were 24 and 29 years old.
