The Central Minnesota Violent Offender Task Force recovered 45 pounds of marijuana and approximately 58,000 dollars in cash on Wednesday in St. Cloud.
Investigators stopped and arrested 32-year-old Samlith Khongloth on the suspicion he was selling controlled substances; charges that were stemming from an eight month long investigation. During the stop officers allegedly found a pound of marijuana and $6,000 in cash.
A short time later, investigators conducted a search warrant at two homes. The first warrant was conducted at Khongloth‘s parents home at 2904 15th Street North. Khongloth was allegedly seen leaving the residence shortly before his arrest. During the search officers allegedly found an additional 44 pounds of pot and a hand gun.
The second search was at Khongloth’s home at 1944 Knollwood Circle. At the home investigators allegedly recovered approximately $52,000 and more marijuana.
Police say Khongloth is expected to be charged with second degree sales of a controlled substance within a school zone. Police say his alleged sales occurred within the proximity of North Junior High school.
According to the task force Khongloth’s cash and Cadillac Escalade will be seized and subject to forfeiture.
