In celebration of Women’s History Month, a theatrical production from 1975 about the oppression of women will be staged next week at St. Cloud State University.

The show titled “for colored girls who have considered suicide/when the rainbow is enuf” by Ntozake Shange is a series of 20 poems set to dance and music. The poems are performed as monologues. They sketch the stories of seven women oppressed by a racist and sexist society. Poem topics include rape, abandonment, abortion, and domestic violence.

Performances are from 7-9 p.m., March 27-29th in Room 227 of Headley Hall, on the campus of St. Cloud State University. This event is being sponsored by the Council of African American Students and the Women's Center.

You can get free tickets to the event by emailing womencenter@stcloudstate.edu.
