The Central Minnesota Violent Offenders Task Force has wrapped up a five month investigation into the manufacturing of Methamphetamine in the St. Cloud area. The investigation concluded on Wednesday when two people were arrested after police found items used to create meth in two St. Cloud locations.
The task force conducted the first search warrant on Wednesday at 1214 7th Avenue North. At the residence police allegedly found two grams of meth along with items used in the creation and use of it.
The suspect who was home at the time, 46-year-old Scott Olson was arrested on charges of possessing a fifth degree controlled substance. Olson could also face charges of conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine. While the task force conducted the search warrant, they learned of another meth lab at an apartment on the East side of St. Cloud.
The second search warrant was conducted at that location; 1215 East Saint Germain Street. 62-year-old Derald Hausmann was arrested during the second search warrant on charges of manufacturing methamphetamine in the first degree. He was arrested after police allegedly found chemicals and ammonia used to create meth along with approximately five grams of the substance.
Authorities say the two search warrants stemmed from another search warrant that was conducted the day before on an impounded minivan that allegedly had a meth lab in the back of it. Police say that Hausmann was the driver of the van. However, the van belongs to a man who is already in custody for the manufacturing of meth.
The two suspects are being held in the Stearns County jail. However, Hausmann faces charges in both Stearns and Benton County because substances found in his apartment were located in Benton County and the van was impounded in Stearns.
