Archived: Two Men Charged With Attempted Murder

Two men have been charged with attempted murder in Stearns County District Court for a shooting that occurred last Friday.

On Friday, March 15th St. Cloud Police and members of the Central Minnesota Violent Task Force were called to the 400 block of 17th Avenue North for a gunshot complaint. According to the report, upon arriving officers found the victim with a gunshot wound to his head. The victim told officers that he and his girlfriend had just entered his apartment when three masked individuals carrying handguns kicked in his front locked door and held him at gunpoint.

According to the court complaint, the victim recognized one of the individuals as 22-year-old Andre Shyron Kidd who appeared to be the ringleader and was giving instructions to the other two men. Kidd and 23-year-old Benjamin Jonathon Lenior were found in a nearby residence where some of the victim’s belongings were found. A loaded handgun was also found at that residence.

During this time, Tech High School, South Junior High School and City Life were put into Containment as a precautionary measure.This containment lasted about 50 minutes and the schools resumed normal activity once given the all clear.
