Archived: Two Men Hospitalized After Car Collides with Tree

Two Sauk Rapids men ended up in the St. Cloud Hospital after their car crashed into a tree early Friday morning. Sauk Rapids Police and Fire Department responded to the one-car collision on the 1300 block of 2nd Avenue South. The car had reportedly left the roadway and struck a tree on the front passenger side.

The driver, 21-year-old Robert Mark Mead, was thrown from the car. His passenger, 21-year-old Dustin Michael Schlien, was trapped by the collision and required removal by the Fire Department. Both men were taken to the St. Cloud Hospital by Gold Cross Ambulance. The State Patrol assisted in the investigation, which is still ongoing.
