A community notification meeting that was scheduled to take place on Thursday, June 14th to discuss a level three sex offender moving into a St. Cloud neighborhood has been cancelled. As previously reported, 52-year-old Marvin Smith was supposed to move into the 500 block of 9th Avenue North last week. According to the St. Cloud police it was found out that Smith did not and will not be moving into St. Cloud. Smith did not check-in with local law enforcement when his plans had changed.

A level three sex offender is one that is most likely to be a repeat offender. Sex offenders are required by the Community Notification Act to register with local law enforcement when they move. Law enforcement officials hold public meetings to help reduce the risk of re-offending and to keep the public informed.
