Woman Killed in Accident on County Road 75 Early Wednesday
08/30/2017 - 12:00 PM

North and south bound traffic was diverted on County Road 75 Wednesday as police were investigating an accident that killed a pedestrian.
St. Cloud Police Sergeant Jason Burke says a 19-year-old woman originally from Michigan was hit by a car about 4:20 a.m. in the 3600 block of County Road 75. Fifty-nine-year-old Mohamed Abdi Egal was driving home from work, heading north in the left lane when investigators say a woman stepped off the center median and in front of his vehicle. He immediately stopped to help and another driver stopped as well. Lifesaving efforts were made to save the woman.
This part of the road is described by law enforcement as quite dark and Egal said he did not see the woman. Investigators report he was not impaired at the time of the accident and is cooperating fully with officials.
The woman's body was taken to the Ramsey County Examiner's office for an autopsy. The accident is still being investigated by the Minnesota State Patrol.
