Waite Park Man Allegedly Aims Handgun at Woman in Car Next To Him
Brent Philippi

A Waite Park man was arrested Tuesday night after allegedly aiming a handgun at two people in a car next to him. 28-year-old Brent Philippi is being held in the Stearns County jail awaiting charges.

According to the report released by police chief David Bentrud the incident happened just before 5:30p.m. on 2nd Street South. According to the man and woman who called police, they were waiting to make a left turn onto Waite Avenue when a Philippi pulled up next to them. One of the victims made a comment about his “nice car” and they say he spit on the woman through an open car window. The victims say he then pointed a handgun equipped with a laser sight in the face of the woman.

A Waite Park police officer located and pulled Philippi over and arrested him without incident. Police did find a handgun with a laser sight in his car. He’s facing charges of 2nd degree assault and making terroristic threats. The victims, who were not injured, told the officers they did not know the suspect and have not seen him before.
