Archived: Wind Advisory Heading Into Thanksgiving Forecast in St. Cloud

We’re heading into a busy holiday travel week with a blast.

Meteorology professor at St. Cloud State Bob Weisman says the National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory for northwestern, west central, and south central Minnesota for Tuesday. The advisory lasts until 2  p.m. in parts of the state.

Areas affected the most by the windy conditions include the Red River Valley, Fergus Falls, Morris, Alexandria, Glenwood, Willmar, Redwood Falls, Olivia, Mankato, New Ulm, Fairmont, Jackson, and Albert Lea.

Northwest winds at 20-30 mph with gusts over 40 mph could push high profile vehicles a whole lane.

However, Weisman adds the rest of the Thanksgiving week forecast has few travel problems, except for the possibility of some fog and perhaps some light frozen precipitation during Thursday night.

You can follow Weisman’s forecasts here.
