Archived: Winter Parking Regulations Are In Effect

From November 1st to April 1st, winter parking rules are in effect for towns in Stearns County. Each town has its own individual restrictions, and all are in effect regardless of the amount of snowfall.

In St. Cloud, from 1 to 7 A.M. on odd-numbered days, cars are to park on the even side of the street. On even-numbered days people should be parking on the odd side. If you park before midnight, park according to the rule that will be in effect after midnight.

No parking is allowed from 1 to 7 A.M. in these areas: north and west of the Sauk River, the area west of the Mississippi River and south of 22nd Street South, the area west of Minnesota Highway 15, the area north and east of U.S. Highway 10, and the area east of the Mississippi River and south of Minnesota Highway 301 and Minnesota Boulevard.

During the rest of the day, parking is permitted on city streets as long as the street is cleared of snow and ice.  However, if the street is paved and less than 32 feet wide, no parking is permitted there anytime.

If a snow emergency is in effect and your car is parked in violation of one of these rules, it will be towed immediately in order for the snow plow to get through.

Snow emergencies will be reported by local media and and St. Cloud’s website
