Woman Arrested After Stealing And Fleeing Officers

On Tuesday afternoon, the Waite Park Police Department were called about a woman who had allegedly shoplifted at a local department store and was leaving the scene.
According to the police report, the woman was driving a red Pontiac Grand Prix, which Stearns County Deputies were able to locate and attempted to stop it. The driver fled southbound on County Road 137 and then west on County Road 6 at speeds up to 100 miles per hour. The driver eventually stopped on County Road 6 and 93rd Avenue in St. Joseph.
The driver, 27-year-old Kayla Nicole Dahl of Spicer, was arrested for felony theft and fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle. She also had several warrants out for her arrest from Stearns, Douglas and Kandiyohi Counties.
The car contained property that Dahl admitted to shoplifting from the Waite Park store as well as other stores in St. Cloud and Sartell.
Deputies recovered about $4,000 of stolen property and returned it to the appropriate businesses.
