Woman Faces Stabbing Charges

A domestic dispute turned violent when 50-year-old Lorie Wakefield of Watkins allegedly stabbed her former boyfriend with a steak knife. Stearns County deputies were called to Balkan Road in Maine Prairie Township last Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. Wakefield stabbed the 53-year-old Watkins resident in the forearm. Wakefield was arrested on 2nd degree assault charges and is being held in the Stearns County Jail. The victim did not seek medical attention.
