Archived: World Famous Violinist To Conduct Concert At SCSU

World-renown violinist Midori will be conducting a master class at St. Cloud State University.

A Japanese native, Midori became famous after her performance at the New York Philharmonic at the age of eleven.

Since then, Midori has been known for her work as an educator and activist, including her role as a United Nations Messenger of Peace where she visited Myanmar in December 2013 with a group of international musicians.

Midori will be sharing her experiences as she will be conducting student musicians who will be performing works by Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, and Bruch.

The concert will be held Monday in the Performing Arts Center’s Recital Hall from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. It is free and open to the public.
