Two people were injured after the car they were riding in hit a semi Thursday morning. St. Cloud Police were called to an accident with injuries in the 4000 block of County Road 74 just after 8 a.m.
A police investigation found that a semi-truck driven by 32-year-old Matthew David Jones of Milbank, South Dakota, was making a left turn into a driveway when a car driven by a 17-year-old St. Cloud resident hit the back of the semi-trailer.
Both the driver and a 16-year-old passenger were taken to the St. Cloud Hospital for what police say are non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the car was issued a citation for inattentive driving.

St. Cloud Police are searching for two men that robbed a store Thursday night. Police were called after a store was robbed in the 1500 block of Northway Drive around 10 p.m.
A police investigation found that two black men entered the store and robbed the attendant, taking an unknown amount of cash before leaving the store on foot heading west. The attendant was not injured in the robbery and Police were unable to locate the suspects. Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 251-1200.

St. Cloud Police are releasing details of a burglary that took place early last Sunday Morning. Police were called to the 800 block of 7th Avenue South around 10:30 a.m. Tuesday for a burglary complaint.
Police say the victim and his roommates walked over to a neighbor’s around 1 a.m. and when he returned, he noticed an iPod, a laptop computer and his wallet were missing from his bedroom. The residence, which has been burglarized before, was left unlocked when they left but a roommate was at home sleeping while they were gone. Police say there are no suspects at this time.

Two local food venues are being recognized for their dedication to food safety. Rocori High School in Cold Spring and El Portal restaurant in Melrose are being rewarded for their food safety work. Both venues are receiving a plaque recognizing their accomplishment and formal recognition by the Stearns County Board of Commissioners.
The Food Safety Awards are presented annually to one school and one restaurant in the county for their work in doing an excellent job in promoting food safety in their facilities year after year.

St. Cloud Police are releasing details about a man who was stabbed with a knife after trying to break up a fight Sunday night. Police were called to the St. Cloud Hospital on Monday for a reported assault.
A police investigation found that a 37-year-old man was stabbed with a knife while attempting to break up a fight in the 1700 block of St. Germain Street West. The victim did not immediately report the incident or get medical help until the next day when he was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
The man was unable to give a description of the people involved in the fight or the person that stabbed him. Police returned to the scene but were unable to find any evidence or any signs of struggle. Anyone with information is asked to contact the police at 251-1200.

A St. Cloud man is custody after fleeing police in a stolen vehicle. Officers with the Central Minnesota Violent Offender Task Force noticed a vehicle speeding near 5th Avenue North and 1st Street North just before 1 p.m. Tuesday. After discovering the vehicle was stolen, officers tried to stop the vehicle, which lead to a short police chase.
The driver, identified as 30-year-old Phongsavanh Saengchanthalath eventually pulled over and arrested by police. Saengchanthalath had an outstanding misdemeanor theft warrant and is facing charges of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and fleeing police in a motor vehicle.

Stearns County Parks Department says it will move forward with plans for construction of the Dairyland Trail. The 26-mile Dairyland Trail would run through western Stearns County from Albany to Brooten, connecting with the Lake Wobegon Trail in Albany on a former rail corridor.
The trail will be used for biking, hiking, and possibly game bird hunting. An aggregate surface will cover the corridor, allowing it to be the 1st trail in Stearns County able to accommodate horseback riding. Construction of the first segment of the trail is set to begin in March or April.

St. Cloud Police are searching for suspects that broke into a dorm room and stole electronics and cash Monday. The burglary occurred in the 500 block of 1st Avenue South. Officers met with two victims who said that several electronic items and some cash were taken from their dorm room sometime between 11 a.m. and 12 p.m. Monday.
Police say it appears that entry was made through the door by using an unspecified tool. Other residents say that two suspicious men were seen in the area but were unable to give a description. Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 251-1200.

Police were called to the intersection of 6th Avenue and 8th Street South for a robbery this past Saturday.
A 21-year-old female from St. Cloud had been walking on the sidewalk around 2 a.m. when a black male in his mid-twenties wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt allegedly knocked her to the ground and stole her purse. The female was unable to give any further description and police were unable to locate the suspect.

St. Cloud Police were called to the 400 block of 21st Avenue North for a burglary Sunday night. A Police investigation found that sometime between January 24th and January 29th multiple items were stolen from a garage. The suspects allegedly entered the garage and stole tools, electronics and yard equipment.
There are no suspects at this time and anyone with information should contact the St. Cloud Police Department at 320-251-1200.

The Morrison County Historical Society is receiving a grant of over $11,000 from the Minnesota Historical & Cultural Grant Program. The Historical Society says the grant will be used to provide digital access to a variety of Morrison County History resources. The grant is worth a total of $11,090 and is part of the Clean Water, Land & Legacy Amendment.

A man is being charged with felony domestic assault after police say he allegedly assaulted his girlfriend. St. Cloud Police were called to the 1500 block of Prairie Hill Road for a domestic disturbance just after 5:30 p.m. Saturday.
Officers say a 22-year-old St. Cloud woman was assaulted by boyfriend who is identified as 29-year-old David Robert Rivard of Stanchfield, Minnesota. Rivard was located at an address in Stanchfield and taken into custody for felony domestic assault based on his past history of criminal convictions. Rivard is currently being held in the Stearns County Jail.

St. Cloud Police are looking for a vehicle that was stolen over the weekend. Officers were called to the 1200 block of 14th Street North for a burglary and reported car theft Sunday.
A police investigation found that the victim’s car was taken sometime between 2:15 and 4:50 a.m. Sunday morning while the residents were home. The vehicle is a white, 1992 Acura 4-door with a license number of 362CKJ. The case is currently under investigation and police are asking anyone with information to call 251-1200.

On Thursday morning Waite Park Police were called to an accident between an ambulance and a car at the intersection of County Road 75 and 28th Avenue.
An ambulance was traveling eastbound on County Road 75 with its red lights and sirens on. According to police, the ambulance entered the intersection on a red light while the driver of another car was making a left turn to go westbound on County Road 75 with a green light when the ambulance hit the car.
The driver of the ambulance 35-year-old Holly Bershceit and the patient being transported 61-year-old Barbara Lieser and her husband 63-year-old Kenneth Lieser were not injured in the crash. The driver of the car, James Hanson did not need hospitalization.
