Wanted Man Arrested Saturday In Stolen Car East of St. Cloud

A man driving a stolen car, among several other charges, was arrested in Minden Township just east of St. Cloud early Saturday.

The Benton County Sheriff's Office stopped 28 year-old Tyler Kirby Wiehoff of Sauk Rapids just after midnight after seeing his taillights weren't working. Wiehoff said that he didn't have his driver's license with him. When asked his identity, he gave the name of his brother. A Sauk Rapids police officer also stopped at the scene and found Wiehoff on a wanted list.

Wiehoff had four ongoing warrants for his arrest and a revoked driver's license. Police found the ignition to Wiehoff's car was damaged and could be started without a key, leading to them discovering the car was stolen. He also had two pills in his pocket that were believed to contain Oxycodone, which Wiehoff did not have a prescription for.

Wiehoff was eventually booked by police and charged with driving after revocation, controlled substance crime in the 5th degree, giving a peace officer a false name, and possession of stolen property.

Authorities are still investigating a crash in Rockville early Tuesday morning.

The Stearns County Sheriff's Office responded to a call at 5:27 a.m. of a vehicle in Sauk River. When authorities arrived, they found the SUV flipped over on its roof. The Rockville Fire and Rescue pulled an adult man out of the vehicle, who died at the scene. He was the lone occupant.

The victim has been identified as 40-year-old Catalino De Leon Alvarado of Rockville.

The crash happened at the County Road 139 and Sauk River Road intersection, which was shut down until towing could remove the car from the river. An initial investigation revealed that the man was heading south on County Road 139 at the time of the crash. He attempted to apply the brakes at the intersection, but went through it, clipping the yellow "T" intersection sign and colliding with a tree, which caused his SUV to flip over and land in the river.

Authorities contacted the owner of the car, who had lent the car to the driver the day before the crash. The man's name is being withheld until family can be notified.

Woman Drives All Over St. Cloud Area Before Being Stopped By Police

A woman was arrested Sunday morning after ignoring officer attempts to pull her over.

Waite Park Police say just before 4 a.m. a call was made about a woman driving all over the road near the Crossroads Mall. The officer found the car near 2nd Street and 2nd Avenue North in Waite Park. The driver ran a red light at 2nd Avenue and Division, the officer then flashed his lights. The woman kept driving and the officer saw her throw something out, which the officer found to be marijuana.

The driver kept on toward St. Joseph and got onto Interstate 94 and took the exit for St. Johns University to return to St. Joseph on County Road 75. Other officers deployed stop sticks on County Road 75, stopping the front left tire. The driver continued until the tire fell apart, at which 21-year-old Kelly Ann Porter of Sauk Rapids was arrested.

Porter is currently being held in the Stearns County Jail on charges of 3rd degree DUI, fleeing in a motor vehicle, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, possession of a small amount of marijuana and misuse of 9-1-1, as it was determined some of the calls were Porter herself.
