Baseball Begins

The warmer weather means spring is around the corner and the SCSU baseball team is ready for the warm weather. They've already got 2 games under their belt. Last weekend the team was in action in Corpus Christi, TX for three games. The teams went 2-3 over the weekend. Falling to Texas A&M 0-2 before defeating Loyola University 11-6 and Southeastern Oklahoma State University 8-5. This week the team is back in Minnesota and will be in action at the Metrodome.

Sophomore, Eric Loxtercamp has earned NSIC recognition for his efforts in the trio of games. He accumulated a .417 batting average, four putouts, no errors in the field, and went 4-4 on stolen bases. He also two walks, four RBIs, five hits, three runs and 12 at bats for the Huskies. Loxtercamp is the NSIC Baseball Player of the Week.

On Saturday the team will take on Wayne State College in a doubleheader before taking on the Bulldogs of Minnesota Duluth in a pair on Sunday. The action begins at 8:15 p.m. both days. The action can be heard on the KVSC Sports Stream with our own Declan Goff.
