The St. Cloud State University baseball team won a pair of NSIC games yesterday topping Upper Iowa by scores of 1-0 and 10-3. With the victories, SCSU improves their record to 35-8 and 23-6 in the conference.
Coming off his no-hitter performance last week, Scott Lieser went five and two-thirds innings on the hill allowing only two hits while striking out three in the 1-0 shutout. In the night game, the Huskies collected 13 hits in the victory. Joey Benke had two of the hits including a homerun leading the SCSU offensively.
St. Cloud is back in action on Friday with a twin-bill against Concorida-St. Paul from Joe Faber Field in St. Cloud. First pitch is slated for 1 p.m. The team will be looking to FILL FABER FIELD as the contests have been designated SCSU Faculty-Staff Appreciation as well as alumni and parent day.
All SCSU faculty and staff will be admitted for free.
