Three days after the end of the men’s hockey season and just one day after inking an NHL contract SCSU men’s hockey senior co-captain, Nic Dowd has been named a Top Three Finalist for the Hobey Baker Award. The Award is given annually to the college hockey player who shows teamwork, dedication, integrity, humility and character both on and off the ice. The other two finalists for the award are Jonny Gaudreau from Boston College and Greg Carey from St. Lawrence University. It's Gaudreau's second time in the Hobey Hat Trick, he was a finalist in 2013 as well.

It’s the second consecutive season that the Huskies have a Hat Trick Finalist. Last season, Drew LeBlanc became the first Husky in history to win the prestigious honor.

The Award winner will be announced on April 11th during the Frozen Four festivities in Philadelphia, PA.
