The SCSU football team also hosted Northern State this weekend. On Saturday afternoon the Huskies tangled with the Wolves in what would be a stomping match. SCSU defeated Northern State 64-7. The exciting game featured record breaking and eight touchdowns. Senior, Jack Moro, broke the school record for interceptions, catching two on the day to make his career total stand at 21. The record was previously set by Dan Neubauer who played for the Huskies 1977-1980. Senior quarterback, Phil Klaphake tied the single game record for touchdown passes, Kyle Risinger set the school record for the longest fumble recovery with an 86-yard return.
Jack Moro and Phil Klaphake are both honored by the NSIC this week as players of the week. It is the second time this season Moro has had the honor.
The Huskies are now 7-1 on the season with just three regular season games remaining. The team travels to Bemidji, MN to take on the Beavers of Bemidji State on Saturday.
