Historic Husky Baseball Season Ends
Head Coach Pat Dolan guided the Huskies to 54-5 season

The 2015 St. Cloud State baseball season ended last weekend falling to Henderson State University in the NCAA Central Regional Championships at Joe Faber field in St. Cloud. SCSU hosted the regional and were the top seed in the six team double-elimination tournament. On Friday the Huskies fell in the opening game to the Reddies of Henderson State and had to battle back through the losers bracket.

St. Cloud would end up eliminating three teams in route to the regional championship including NSIC rival Minnesota-State Mankato. With the wins SCSU met Henderson State again in the regional championship and needed to beat the Reddies two times to advance to College World Series. Despite taking a 7-2 lead Henderson State chipped away, eventually tying the game in the eighth inning. Mother Nature continued to plague the tournament as the game was delayed in the ninth inning for two hours due to rain and lightning.

In the bottom of the tenth inning, Henderson State would get a leadoff double and then walked it off for the victory securing a birth to the College World Series and ending the Huskies season. With the loss SCSU finished their 2015 season 54-5, setting a school record for wins in a season. It was the fourth time since 2010 SCSU finished runner-up in a regional.

Reese Gregory, Kyle Lieser and Eric Loxtercamp were named to the Central Region All-Tournament team. St. Cloud will graduate nine seniors that were responsible for two conference championships and three regional appearances.
