Huskies Prepare for UND

The Saint Cloud State women’s hockey team is working hard at practice this week preparing for the first WCHA series of the second half of the season. The Huskie travel to Grand Forks this weekend to take on the University of North Dakota in the first of two straight road series. UND is struggling so far on the year, as they are 3-10-0-1 in conference play. The Huskies meanwhile are coming off of two ties in the Easton Holiday Showcase against Providence and top ranked Mercyhurst.
SCSU’s senior captain Felicia Nelson notched 6 goals in the Showcase and now leads the nation with 18 on the season. She has been helped in the scoring department by the rest of her top line, seniors Caitlin Hogan and Holly Roberts. Hogan and Roberts are tied for the team lead in points with 28. Both of the games this weekend will be broadcast live on KVSC 88.1 fm with Matt Bishop and Joe Clemence having the call. Game time Friday is 7:07 p.m. and puck drop Saturday is 4:07 p.m. Pregame starts 20 minutes prior to faceoff.
