Husky Baseball Sweeps Sioux Falls

The baseball games for the weekend, originally scheduled to be played at home were moved to Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The Huskies did not let the hard life of travel affect their performance. The Huskies swept the University of Sioux Falls Cougars. Saturday game finals were 10-3 and 2-0. Highlights from day one include a six run fifth inning during game one, giving the Huskies a 9-0 lead and in game two senior pitcher Corey Fitzgerald threw eight innings with only three hits and striking out 11.
In game one on Sunday Mike Jurgella went 3-for-3 at the plate with one run and two RBIs as the Huskies rolled to a 6-0 victory. In game two the Huskies were victorious 3-1 sophomore Garrett Harrison pitched 6.2 innings and struck out nine batters. He's now 1-1 on the season.
The Huskies are 25-6 overall on the year and 14-3 in the NSIC. Next up, the Huskies are scheduled to take on Upper Iowa University. Those games are slated for Thursday and Friday in St. Cloud. Stay tuned via our Twitter account for game times, changes and details on our coverage.
UPDATE: Baseball games for this week have been moved to Fayette, Iowa. The Huskies will still be the home team.
