Husky Volleyball To Host Bemidji State In NSIC Opener

The Husky Volleyball team (4-4, 0-0 NSIC) has fallen to .500 on the year following the 2015 Upper Iowa Tournament. They open NSIC play against Bemidji State University (2-7, 0-0 in NSIC) at 7 p.m. tonight at Halenbeck Hall.

The last time these teams met Bemidji State took home the victory in 3 sets. To get the win this time around the Huskies are going to have to get off to a strong start. Unfortunately, the team is having trouble starting matches strong this season. They've won just 3 of the 8 1st sets they've played this year. This is significant because in 3 of their 4 losses they've fallen in the 1st set. However, if they can capture the 1st set against Bemidji State today they will be in a great position to win the match as the Beavers have only won a 4th set once and a 5th set once this season.
Rachel Burke is a player to watch for the Huskies as she is 2nd on the team in kills with 74 and is coming off of a season high 18 kills in the loss against Upper Iowa last Saturday.
