Men's Basketball Splits on Weekend

It was a so-so weekend for the St. Cloud State mens basketball team as they fell to the University of Mary 84-81 in overtime on Friday and took down Northern State on Saturday 91-83.
In Friday’s game, senior captain Taylor Witt led the Huskies with a double-double as he had 27 points and ten rebounds against the Mary Mauraders. Jesse Fisher chipped in 17 points off of the bench for SCSU and Brett Putz had 15.
Saturday saw the Huskies have three players score 20-plus points and four players combine for 80 points against the Wolves of Northern State. Putz led the Huskies with 22 points, Witt had 20 and Andrew Bernstetter picked up 20 points, six rebounds and three blocked shots. Jesse Fisher continued his strong weekend in a reserve role with 18 points and three rebounds.
The Huskies are now 2 and 5 on the 2010-2011 season and return to Halenbeck Hall this weekend to take on Southwest Minnesota State and Minnesota State-Mankato.
