Phil Esten Challenge

The Husky track and field team participated in the Phil Esten Challenge on Sunday on the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse campus. It’s only the second outdoor meet of the season due to bad weather conditions.
The Huskies brought home two titles this weekend. Keely Rubash took the women’s 3,000 meter steeplechase crown, recording a new personal best time of 11 minutes 19.77 seconds. Also on the women’s team; Becky Schmidt posted a second place finish in the 100m dash, Laure Olson took sixth in100m hurdles. Alicia Evans earned a fifth place finish with a time of 58.71 in the 400m dash. Kassie Vaness competed in the 5,000m run in a fifth place finish and the 400m hurdles, Candice Wayne recorded ninth.
On the men’s side Brady Wilkerson took first in the 100 meter dash, he also finished in second for the 200 meter dash. Both the men's and women's relay teams finished in second.
Up next the Huskies participate in the Drake Relays and Alternative in Des Moines this weekend.
