Saint Cloud State University men's hockey assistant coach Eric Rudd has been named  head coach for the U.S. Boys Select Under-18 Team. The team will compete at the 2009 Iva Hlinka Memorial Tournament in Piestany, Slovakia on August 11th through the 15th. The U.S. roster will compete against teams from Canada, Russia, Finland, Slovakia and the Czech Republic.

This is the second year in a row that Rudd has coached a U.S. select team. Last year Rudd coached the 2008 U.S. Boys Select Under-17 Team.

Next fall, Rudd will begin his fifth season as an assistant coach at St.Cloud with the first game of the season set for October 9th, at Miami University (Ohio).
