SCSU Football Remains Undefeated

For the first time since 2007 the SCSU football team is off to a 3-0 start. The Huskies defeated the Golden Bears of Concordia St. Paul on the road over the weekend in a dominating fashion.
SCSU held Concordia off the scoreboard during the first two quarters heading into the second half with a 31-0 lead. The Huskies ended the game with 437 yards of offense and ran away with a 34-3 victory. It was a successful game for the entire team and in particular the seniors. Senior Phil Klaphake threw for two touchdowns, completing 20 of 31 passes for 243 yards. He finished with 40 rushing yards. Another senior, Michael Walker rushed for a touchdown and scored another on a pass reception in the first quarter and Damon Treat caught his third touchdown pass of the season. On defense senior, Tate Christopherson collected eight tackles. Senior, Jack Moro caught his second interception of the season for a new career total of 16; just three shy of the SCSU career record of 19.
The Huskies return home again this weekend as a part of Celebrate St. Cloud State and Family weekend. The Huskies will take on the Vikings of Augustana on Saturday at 6 p.m. The game can be heard on 88.1 FM KVSC or online.
