SCSU Tennis Falls in NSIC Tournament

The St. Cloud State womens tennis team’s run for their third straight Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference tournament title fell short this past weekend at the Baseline Tennis Center in Minneapolis.

The fourth-seeded Huskies lost a nail-biter to fifth-seed Minnesota State University-Mankato by a score of 5-4. The Huskies scored wins at the top three singles matches against the Mavericks but it was MSU who gained the upper hand in doubles. Katie Kotschevar was a bright spot for SCSU in the matchup as she won at #3 singles and also took home a win in #1 doubles along with Cassandra Brown.

SCSU is now 18-9 and is all but eliminated from NCAA Tournament contention. KVSC Sports will have an interview with SCSU womens tennis coach Jerry Anderson on Husky Sport Friday, April 22nd from 4:30pm-5:00pm as he talks about the weekend.
