The St. Cloud State Wrestling team has moved up in the national rankings in the latest NCAA Coaches Polls to 3rd.

Despite losing their first dual in nearly three duals, the Huskies collected a big win last week against the then #3 ranked Central Oklahoma Bronchos to claim 3rd place in the NWCA National Duals and keep their place in the top tier of NCAA Division II wrestling.

The Huskies also have five individuals that have garnered national recognition in the latest rankings. 133 pound senior captain Andy Pokorny (Sr., Benningtion, Neb) kept his number two ranking after a stellar performance this past weekend in Iowa. Matt Nelson (Redshirt Sophomore, Big Lake, Minn) fell in the rankings at 141 but still is standing strong at number four. Captain Clint Poster (Redshirt Sophomore, Pierz, Minn) stayed at number four at 157 while Gabe Fogarty (Sophomore, Jordan, Minn) gained two spots in the rankings at 165 and is now number two. Last but not least, the newest Husky to the rankings is heavyweight grappler Austin Goergen (Redshirt Freshmen, Caledonia, Minn) who premieres at number four in the nation. Goergen brought home 3 wins and forfeit this past weekend including wins against then ranked #7 Niko Bogojevic of Colorado State Pueblo and a big pin against All American heavyweight Cody Dauphin from Central Oklahoma. Dauphin is now ranked number eight.

The #3 Huskies will travel to Kenosha, Wisconsin this weekend to the UW-Parkside Ranger Duals. Stay tune to for scheduled dual times.
